Anna + Jonny’s Castle Leslie Estate Wedding

Tell us all about you! What do you do? How do you spend your free time? What's important in life?
We live just outside of Newcastle upon Tyne with our pooch, Nuala, who is making the journey to NI with us for the big day. Anna's a physio at a local hospital and Jonny is an accountant and local coffee connoisseur after 18 months of working from home! At the minute, the majority of our free time has been spent on wedding planning following the initial delays to our plans in April 2020. Aside from that, we recently bought a new house, which is very much a do-er upper and so have been spending a lot of time renovating, which has been very interesting with our zero DIY skills - Youtube is our new best friend! The new house is at the Coast, so we love to go for walks with the pooch to the beach and have big plans to take up sea kayaking post wedding to make use of all the newfound free time we will have. We're both really close to our families, with both of us being one of four and are really excited to have all of our families from England and Ireland getting together for a big party at the wedding!
Why did you decide to capture your Castle Leslie Estate wedding on video?
We weren't initially planning a videographer but with COVID delays, and after watching the video from Anna's brother’s wedding we knew it was something we had to add. We wanted to capture as much of the day as we could!
Why did you choose Amber Tree Filmhouse to film your wedding?
After hours spent scrolling through Instagram we found Amber Tree Filmhouse and loved how you managed to capture the feel of each wedding. The short films with the sound of speeches/vows edited over were exactly what we wanted, and after speaking to Sam we knew he'd fit in perfectly on the day!

Tell me all about the proposal! Spare no detail, I want to hear it all!
I (Jonny) had been planning to propose to Anna for quite a while but was just waiting for the perfect time. The engagement ring had been bought and had been hidden in the attic for a couple of months when we booked a last minute weekend away to the Northumberland coast with the dog. After a quick and very nerve-wracking phone call to Anna's dad to ask his permission, it was all good to go - Although I'm not sure her mum bought the lie that I was phoning for his scone recipe! We stayed up there the Saturday night and the following day after breakfast went for a long walk on the beach - Dogs ball in one pocket, and ring in the other, thankfully not confused and the ring thrown down the beach! I spotted a secluded bit of dunes, and got down on one knee to pop the big question. Anna's reaction of screaming 'ARE YOU SERIOUS' and tears wasn't exactly what I expected, but thankfully they were happy tears and a few seconds later with the ring on her finger, she confirmed that meant yes!
Why did you choose Castle Leslie Estate as your venue? What made it special to you?
Jonny fell in love with Castle Leslie almost immediately, and it was confirmed when they showed us the wedding menu - food was always very high on our venue checklist! We love the setting, the gorgeous location of the Castle, and the family feel of the venue. We wanted to be able to party all night and wake up with all our closest friends and family for breakfast and Castle Leslie was the perfect place for that!
