Tell us all about you! What do you do? How do you spend your free time? What's important in life?
We have been together for 9 years and were friends for a few years before that! We are quite an active couple and enjoy being outside and seeing everything the world has to offer. From far-flung locations to what's on our doorstep. The most important thing in our lives is family. We simply couldn't imagine life without them.
Why did you decide to capture your wedding on video?
As family is so important to us, the idea of not getting a wedding video never really occurred to us. We always wanted moving images of the ones we love the most and wanted a video we will enjoy looking back on and sharing with them and future family members. Wedding videos form some of our memories of our older family members who are no longer with us and we wanted to ensure that we had the best chance of capturing ALL the memories on the day.
Why did you choose Amber Tree Filmhouse to film your wedding?
We knew that we didn't want a "traditional" wedding video. We didn't want a chronological display of what happened. We really wanted a video that we would tell a story, would be fun to watch and we could see ourselves watching in the future. Nowadays everyone has the ability to record, they carry it in their pocket, so we knew we needed and wanted something truly special. We chose Amber Tree Filmhouse because the style of video being produced matched and exceeded what we were looking for. After meeting you we knew that the relationship would work to produce something special, which it most certainly did!!
Tell me all about the proposal! Spare no detail, I want to hear it all!
I proposed to Stephanie on a surprise trip to our favourite hotel. We have spent a few nights there before, always celebrating something truly special. I decided to ask her just before dinner, I was so so nervous. I had thought about what I wanted to say, I managed to convey none of it before getting onto one knee and asking her. I knew it was the most important thing that I would ever do, it made me so so nervous. Luckily Stephanie knows me better than I know myself and collected me up off the floor and comforted me telling me not to be nervous. She really is the best, however, I did have to point out that technically I was still waiting for an answer. We laughed and luckily she said yes!!!
Why did you choose the Titanic Hotel Belfast as your venue? What made it special to you?
We first looked into the Titanic Hotel Belfast because of its location. With most of our friends and family travelling over for our wedding, we wanted to make it as easy as possible in terms of transport and accommodation options. Quite quickly we understood that only a Belfast wedding would provide that. We started looking around Belfast and was starting to get worried that we wouldn't find our ideal location. We had been to the Titanic Hotel with my parents for celebration drinks shortly after getting engaged. We decided to have a look at what they offered, we never would have expected what we found. An AMAZING location to get married, excellent package deal and good availability. At the time of booking, they had only done about 10 weddings and we met with them several times. The relationship we built with them made us sure that together we could host something amazing and fulfil all our requirements. We were most certainly right!! As our day approached we started to hear amazing reports of weddings there and the help and support of all the staff was incredible. We can not recommend them highly enough and know we have a truly special memory in a truly special place.
